From the series, "Koso Go-ichidai Ryaku Zu" ("An Abridged Biography of Koso Illustrated"). "Koso" (High Priest, Nichiren) was the founder of a Buddhist sect in 13th Century. He is travelling in the Tsukuba Mountains alone in the heavily falling snow.
