Tuesday, 13 September 2005 32 Aspects of Women: #30 Looking 'Sleepy' Artist: Yoshitoshi Format: Oban tate-e: 14" x 9.5" approx Subject: #30 A low-ranking prostitute (shigi) of the Meiji era, sleeping on a red futon. From the series, Thirty-two Aspects of Customs and Manners of Women, which we shall be auctioning in its entirety over the next few weeks. Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi Date: 1888 Condition: Very slightly trimmed. Laid down on album backing, as issued. Two small stains in title cartouche. Some minor offsetting on left and a water stain at base. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally very good state. Colour: Fine Impression: Fine 1st edition with 3-color title cartouche.
