Kisokaido Series: # 50 Mitake Artist: Kuniyoshi Format: Oban tate-e: 14.25" x 10" Subject: Kagekiyo carrying a naginata on the colossal Buddha of Todaiji, where he was arrested. Inset: mist among the mountains, and huts by a river. Publisher: Sumiyoshi-ya Masagoro Date: 1853 Condition: Fine colors. Full size with margin on one side. Laid down on Japanese paper. Very minor marks, rubbing, creases and flaws. Generally fine state of preservation. Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage, a lacquer design on Kagekiyo's kimono and mica in the bokashi at top.
