描述：
Samurai formed the highest social class during the peaceful Edo period (1615-1868). This gave them the time to enjoy Tokugawa shogunate-sanctioned leisure activities such as falconry in the suburbs of Edo (present-day Tokyo). This handsome samurai, in patterned hakama and haori with double-cherry blossom crest, holds a falcon on his leather-gloved left hand. During an actual hunt dogs and mounted samurai chased the prey (small birds, pheasants, rabbits, wild ducks or deer) out of hiding. The raptor would then capture and guard the prey.
