Friday, 7 October 2005 JAPANESE WOOD BLOCK PRINT MILL HOUSE, WINTER SCENE. Beautiful blending of colors in this wood block print. Winter scenes are much more difficult to find than others. I really like the water falling off the mill house wheel. I was told this piece and many others I purchased were obtained by the original owner ( the seller's father) were obtained in Japan in the 1960's, however I don't really know the age of the wood block prints. The print is signed in the lower right corner. The back sticker has a "Y" over a "G" and other characters I cannot identify. Some of the other prints say "SHINAGAWA", but this one does not. Size of the actual print is 7" by 9 -7/8". The frame is 12" by 15 -7/8.
