While one would expect an alley to be flanked with a whole row of trees to the left and right, this one is marked by only two meager trees desperately trying to survive in the barren and hostile environment of the Loess Plateau. Note Li Yanpeng is one of the 60 artists selected for the collection of the London based Muban Foundation (muban = Chinese word for woodblock print).
