Saturday, 22 December 2007 The Ferry Artist: Kiyochika Format: Oban yoko-e: 10.75" x 15.75" approx Subject: Fujimi ferry in Hondo. In the background Mt.Fuji against the setting sun. The blocks for this series were in preparation when Kiyochika died in 1915 and were issued shortly thereafter. Publisher: Daikokuya (Matsuki Heikichi) Date: ca.1915 Condition: Slight toning on verso otherwise fine Colour: Fine Impression: Fine Other Notes: The set comprises some 26 designs and is exceptionally rare. Each print bears the publisher's stamp to verso together with the notation Kiyochika Fukei Shin-ga Hampu kai, i.e. of a limited edition.
