Signed original and numbered 2/80 woodblock titled "Buddhist" by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1992) eminent Japanese woodblock artist. Saito's increasing popularity in recent years gives adequate testimony to his stature as modern artist.His works are in numerous mueums and quality private collections throughout the world. This piece has an image size of 15 1/8" x 20 1/2" in a 22" x 28" frame. We have not removed piece from the frame but external inspection reveals no staining, fading, abrasions, etc. to the print or matting. We have phtographed through the glass so there is some problem with refelcton and angle distortion. The rear of the print frame contains a certification that the printing block was carved by Saito and has his stamp and apparent signature.
