Monday, 5 September 2005 You are bidding on an original Japanese woodblock print “Nude” signed by the Famous Taisho/Showa Shin Hanga woodblock print artist Kaoru Kawano (1916-1965). The print size is 16 1/2 x 11 inches. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. The artist’s signature and his chop mark are at the lower left corner of the print. This print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry paper. Four borders are intact. This print was kept in a frame for decades.
