Monday, 12 June 2006 Title "Festival Lanterns at Zoshigaya" ("Oeshiki Zoshigaya") Date 1934; early edition (pre-War) Series na Publisher Watanabe Shozaburo Seal, Carver/Printer Watanabe "C seal" (used only 1929-42) Image Size 8 1/4 x 14 1/4 Impression Fine. Skillful soft "bokashi" shading throughout; visible "woodgrain" (sky and left); crisp "key-lines." Condition Excellent. No flaws noted. Clean backside (pencil notation verso margin). Reference/Illus Blair, Toledo 1936, pl. #172; Grund #W-08; Watanabe 1936 Catalogue #K-10. Comments Rarely seen image. Flawless condition.
