Artist HIREZAKI, Eiho (1881-1970) Title "Girl in Blue Kimono" (given name) Date ca1908-12 Series Likely "Kanao Bunendo" (literary magazine) Publisher unk Seal, Carver/Printer unk Image Size 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 Impression Very Fine. Nicely executed "bokashi" shading, including pink to face; "gauffrage" to collar and eyes; superbly done "burnishing" to produce "layered" hair; crisply detailed lines. Condition Very Good. Strong colors. (Soiling (mostly to lower corner margin), light wrinkling.) Reference/Illus See Article #10: "Kuchi-e," or Literary Magazine Frontispieces. Comments Very seldom seen print. Superb.
