Kamakura Daibutsu, 1950, 1st Edition Okuyama Gihachiro (1907 - 1981) Kamakura Daibutsu This classic shin-hanga image of the Great Buddha at Kamakura is considered Okuyama Gihachiro’s best print. The colors are wonderful, the design a classic image of this famous site. First Edition- This print is a first edition printing of the Kamakura Daibutsu image published by Kyoto hanga In. It dates to 1950. Signed- Gihachiro with red artist’s seal- Okuyama Sealed- Publisher Kyoto hanga In, 1st Edition Image size- 10 ?” x 15 3/8” (oban tate-e) Condition- Good, no toning, small paper remnants on back from previous framing.
