Original Woodblock By Umetaro Azechi (1902-1999) TITLE: MOUNTAINEER. Polychrome impression SIZE: 17 1/4 x 12 1/2 PUBLISHED: 1953, carved printed and published by the artist, edition limited to 50 of which this print is 40/50. Blocks: 5 blocks of plywood faced with shina; 9 printing stages PIGMENT: Poster color for the Black background, watercolors for the rest. PAPER: Torinoko Pencil signed and dated 53 U, Azechi 40/50 SEAL: Artist's red seal image CONDITION: Very good, some discoloration(browning in left margin), tape residue at top on reverse side, Print has never been laid down.
