You are viewing a rare set of Japanese woodblock prints by Takeji Asano (1900-1999). Among his famous works is this set entitled, “Eight Views of Kinki, all produced in 1954. Important to all of these woodblocks is the statement, “Takeji gokoku ? suru” printed on the block, roughly translated to, “Takeji paint, cut, print” written on all eight prints, very similar to a "Jizuri" seal on Hiroshi Yoshida works. 1) Shinyo Temple, Snow; January 1954, 2) Wakano-ura Moonlight; February 1954, 3) Arashiyama Spring; April 1954, 4) Himeji Castle; July 1954, 5) Yasaka Pagoda; August 1954, 6) Ukimido Temple Evening Moon; September 1954, 7) Kofukuji Autumn; October 1954, 8) Sumiyoshi Shrine Snow; November 1954
