Colour woodblock print, an oban triptych from an album of 117 sheets. The kabuki actors Matsumoto Koshiro V as Banzui Chobei, standing with sword and holding out a lantern, Sawamura Gennosuke I as Honjo Sukeichi, and Iwai Hanshiro V, fighting with swords; in the play ‘Reigen Soga no magaki’ by Katsu Hyozo I, (Tsuruya Nanboku IV), performed at the Ichimura-za in the 4th month of 1809.
