Colour woodblock print, oban. The fourth sheet from a polyptych from an album of 117 sheets. The kabuki actor Onoe Matsusuke II as Soga no Juro Sukenari, with a sword and holding a folded fan; in an unstaged scene (‘mitate’) depicting the Soga brothers’ confrontation, (‘Soga no taimen’).
