Kabuki actors,Ichikawa Ichijuro II (left) plays Inukai Genpachi and Jitsukawa Enjaku plays Inuzuka Shino. They are battling on the roof of Horyukaku Temple in the play, "Satomi Hakkenden". The eight heroes in this imaginative revenge story by Takizawa Bakin have "inu" (dog) as part of their names. Therefore, they are called "Hakken-shi" (Eight Dog Heroes).
