From series, "Kabuki Juhachi-Ban" (Eighteen Famous Kabuki Plays by the Ichikawa). No. 14. "Shibaraku". The strong man, Kamakura Gongoro, appears on the stage, shouting, "Shibaraku, Shibaraku! (Wait a minute, wait a minute!) to delay the execution of a good guy. His flamboyant makeups and long sword represent the vigor and the strength of super heroes in kabuki.
