Frontispiece illustration for the novel "Hinode-Jima: Hawaii no Maki" (The Island of the Rising Sun: Chapter Hawaii) by Murai Gensai. It was published in Bungei Kurabu, which was a popular literary magazine aimed at mainly female readers in Meiji - Taisho era.
