"Kanadehon Chushingura". Kabuki actors are in the roles of Teraoka Hiraemon (left: played by Onoe Kikugoro), 47 Ronin leader Oboshi Yuranosuke (Ichikawa Sadanji) who noticed Okaru (right: Iwai Hanshiro) was trying to read his letter using a small mirror. Under the veranda, a spy of the enemy, named Ono Kudayu, is reading the letter as it falls.
